Allan Beutler, Baritone Sax, was born in Standish Michigan. After leaving home, Allan joined the Stan Kenton band, touring and recording with them.
In the mid sixties he moved out to the West Coast where he played with Louis Bellson, Don Ellis, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, Les Brown, Dee Barton and Claire Fisher.
Allan has played on several movie soundtracks. They include Clint Eastwood’s, “High Plains Drifter, “Thunderbolt & Lightfoot” and “Play Misty For Me”. He has recorded two Movie Soundtracks for “Benji”, and a Diana Ross movie, “Lady Sings The Blues".
Television shows include, Playboy After Dark, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, the Pearl Bailey and Ed Sullivan Shows.
Beutler has shared the stage with such greats as Lou Rawls, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Ringo Star, Billy Preston, Cher, Duke Ellington, Nancy Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Kenny Loggins.
He played with George Harrison in one of the most famous concerts in history, the "Concert For Banglea Desh". Credits from the concert included a Grammy winning single, a movie plus a video.
He worked in Dallas for WFAA Television as a Design Director and Associate Creative Director at that ABC affiliate. Now in retirement, he has time to clean up so to speak by operating his carwash, fishing and playing golf.
